River Valley Civilisations
Agatha Christie, writer and archaeologist by passion, will accompany children on a journey to the origins of ancient Mesopotamian and Egyptian, Indian and Chinese civilisations. Together we will discover how the most ancient inscriptions were deciphered and which women made their mark on the historical studies of the river civilisations. The ancient documents, written by the men of the past and studied by the men of the present, do not include women nor children. We’ll try to reconstruct their daily lives and the role they played in the society and economy of their time.
River Valley Civilisations is included in a gender history series edited by the Italian Society of Female Historians, to show children a new narrative of history, interweaving the stories of women and men and highlighting the value of relationships and differences.
