Vichi De Marchi was born in Venice and lives in Rome. A journalist, she has written for television, newspapers, and magazines and worked for many years with the United Nations. Her books have received numerous awards, including a mention at the Andersen Prize and a nomination in the shortlist for the 2016 Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi Prize. Her biographies of female scientists, such as La mia vita tra i gorilla and Ragazze con i numeri, co-written with Roberta Fulci, have been translated into many languages. Among her most recent novels, I maestri di strada (2018) won the Procida Prize – Il mondo salvato dai ragazzini, while Nato a Hiroshima (2020) won the Città di Castello Prize. In 2024, she published Chiamami Giulietta.
