In 1960, in Gombe, Tanzania, I was the first to trust Jane. I wasn’t afraid of her at all. To be honest, I really liked her. And so, day after day, I got closer to her, we formed a pure friendship, and I introduced her to the others of my group, friends and family. I never regretted it, quite the contrary.
My name is David “Greybeard”, because of the tuft of white hair under my chin. I am a chimpanzee, and this is the story of Doctor Jane Goodall and her love for us and the animals of the forest.

David, Godall’s Chimpanzee is the second book of the Scientists and Their Pets series: some of the most revolutionary scientific theories in history presented through the perspectives of those who witnessed their origins or even inspired them.
