Anna Forlati
Illustrator

Anna Forlati is an Italian artist and illustrator born in Padua. She pursued studies in contemporary art and film history at the IUAV University in Venice. Her career in children’s book illustration began after receiving a commission for an illustrated book from a Palestinian organisation, leading her to enrol in the Ars in Fabula Master’s program in Macerata, Italy. Over the years, Anna has illustrated approximately 40 books, collaborating with various international publishers. Her work has been recognized in exhibitions, including the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2014. In addition to her illustration career, she teaches at the Ars in Fabula Picture Book Academy, mentoring aspiring illustrators. Anna’s artistic style is versatile, often exploring different techniques and atmospheres tailored to each project. She draws inspiration from dreams and the natural world, with a particular affinity for magic realism influenced by artists like Henri Rousseau and South American writers such as Galeano, Cortázar, and García Márquez.
