Chiara Carrer is a renowned Italian illustrator and author, celebrated for her significant contributions to children’s literature. Born in Venice, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and further honed her skills in engraving at the School of Ornamental Arts of San Giacomo. Since 1990, Carrer has illustrated and authored over a hundred books, collaborating with various Italian and international publishers. Her distinctive artistic style and storytelling have earned her numerous prestigious awards, including the Golden Apple at the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava in 2003, Special Mentions at the Bologna Ragazzi Awards, the Italian Andersen Award, honours from ILUSTRARTE, the Biennial of Children’s Book Illustration. In addition to her prolific illustration career, Carrer is dedicated to education, teaching at institutions such as ISIA in Urbino and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
