Davide Morosinotto is an internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning author whose works have been translated into 25 languages.
His last novel is The Legendary Treasure of Hell Gate (Mondadori, June 2025).
He won both the Andersen and the Super Andersen Prize in Italy in 2017 for The Pocket Watch Gang (Mondadori, 2016, translation rights sold in Catalan, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, Galician, German, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian) and the Premio Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi for The Greatest (Rizzoli, 2020, translation rights sold in French, German, Dutch, Audiovisual Rights optioned by Red Monk), which earned him a place on the IBBY Honour List Italia 2021.

With the bestselling author Pierdomenico Baccalario, he wrote Maydala Express (Book on a Tree, 2020, translation rights sold in French) and The Crimson City Heist (Salani, 2023), which was also included in the IBBY Honour List Italia 2024.
Together with his sister Chiara, a researcher specialized in anti-predator behavior and stress responses in the animal world, currently working at the University of Padua, he wrote The Fear of the Lion (Rizzoli, 2022, translation rights sold in French) which was included in the IBBY Honour List Italia 2023 and Owls Family (Camelozampa, 2025), illustrated by Isabella Grott.
Internationally, he has been a finalist for the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis, and has received numerous awards, including the Penzberger Urmel in Germany, the Prix des Bouquineurs en Seine and the Grand Prix des Lecteurs du Journal de Mickey in France, the Vlag en Wimpel and the Zilveren Griffel in the Netherlands, the KJV Prize in Flanders, and the Protagonista Jove Prize in Catalonia.
He was also nominated for the 2022 Carnegie Medal in the UK, won the 2023 Bookstar Prize for German-language literature, and, in 2024, received the Elbakin.net Award for Best Translated Fantasy Novel for Young Readers.
In 2025, he won the Prix des Libraires Jeunesse du Québec (12-17), Canada’s most prestigious children’s literature award, as well as the Prix Sorcières– Carrément Sorcier Fiction – Passionnant Maxi in France. He has also been nominated for the Leesjury 2026 in Belgium.
