Irene Penazzi is a children’s book author and illustrator based in Lugo, near Ravenna, Italy. She has a degree in illustration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and completed an internship at the Hamburg University of Applied Science (HAW Hamburg, Germany). She has published many picture books with several Italian and international publishers, including Bayard Jeunesse, Maison Eliza, Einaudi Ragazzi, Terre di mezzo, Editoriale Scienza – Giunti. Her books have won several awards, including IBBY Honour List selection for two times, Image of the Book international award, Premio Rodari shortlist, Premio Orbil shortlist.
