Sara Stefanini was born in Sorengo, Switzerland in 1982. She graduated in illustration and multimedia animation at the IED in Milan in 2006. Currently she works as a graphic designer and freelance illustrator for Italian and foreign magazines and publishing houses. She was selected for the 2016 Ilustrarte International Competition and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition in 2020.
Her picture book Little Sailing Manual (Camelozampa, 2023) is in the IBBY Italia 2024 selection, is the winner of the Procida Isola di Arturo Elsa Morante Award (Kids section) and is among the books recommended by the Plano Nacional de Leitura Portugal. Translation rights have been sold for English, Portuguese, French, Spanish and Russian.
