Irene Biemmi was born in 1978 in Tuscany, a former volleyball player, passionate about animated films, she is a pedagogical researcher, trainer and author of books for children. As a researcher and trainer, she studies the processes linked to the construction of female and male identity and holds courses to raise awareness of gender culture and equal opportunities in schools. As a children’s writer, she aims to offer young readers an imagery as free as possible from sexist stereotypes. She is president of the social promotion association ‘Rosaceleste’ and with Daniela Morozzi, a Florentine actress who has always been active in social issues, she has designed and staged the Rosaceleste conference-show of the same name for schools, libraries and theatres.
