Discover Just Right at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026: new children’s books, international rights deals, award-winning titles and our latest catalogue.
Every year, professionals in children’s publishing prepare for one key event: the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. From 13 to 16 April 2026, the halls of the Bologna Exhibition Centre will once again be filled with colourful books, conversations around storytelling and imagination, and illustrations by artists from all over the world.
This year’s edition is particularly special for us. For the first time, Just Right will welcome partners – publishers and co-agencies – to our booth in Hall 25. The space has been designed as a welcoming, home-like living room where meetings can unfold naturally and everyone can feel at ease. We’ll be in excellent company: joining us will be Rosamaria, foreign rights agent at Book on a Tree, a strategic partner of Just Right.
At the fair, we’ll present our 2026 catalogue, featuring a wide range of new titles, from picture books to YA fiction.
Several projects have already attracted strong international interest. Translation rights for Enid Enigma, written by Sonia Elisabetta Corvaglia and illustrated by Alida Pintus (published in Italy in January 2026), have already been sold in French, German and Russian. Meanwhile, What Is The Sky, written by Guia Risari and illustrated by Marianna Balducci (Camelozampa, 2026), has already received an offer for the Korean language.
We are especially proud that many of our books have recently been recognized with prestigious awards.
Chromosomes, written by Fabian Negrin and illustrated by Kalina Muhova (Edizioni Corsare, 2025), received a Special Mention in the Non-fiction category at the Bologna Ragazzi Award and has been shortlisted for the 2026 Orbil Award. It had previously been selected for the White Ravens 2025 and the IBBY Italy Choice 2025. The illustrations for The Little Prince (ideestortepaper, 2026) have been selected for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition 2026. In addition, Giovanni Colaneri, author and illustrator of several titles in the Just Right catalogue, is the Italian Children’s Laureate for 2025–2027.
When I Am a Caveman (Camelozampa, 2025) is shortlisted for the 2026 Malerba Prize. Of Fire and Silk (Mondadori, 2024), a historical novel by Manlio Castagna, won the Gigante delle Langhe Prize (11–14 category), after already receiving the 2025 Acqui Storia Prize and the 2025 Castello di Sanguinetto Prize, and being shortlisted for both the 2025 Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi Prize and the 2025 Laura Orvieto Prize.
And that’s not all. Just Right is now officially the agency managing subsidiary rights for two internationally acclaimed children’s series: Ulysses Moore and Sherlock, Lupin and I.
