Imagination and reality merge in a picture book packed with colorful illustrations and charming details that will spark children curiosity
Mia recently moved from a big city with her mum, dad, and little brother. Their new house is in the countryside, and it’s lovely. But the best thing about their new home is their neighbor. She has long silver braids, two eyes as black as ink, and a mysterious smile. She often rings the doorbell to ask for things—not the usual eggs, sugar, or salt—but rather unusual items such as radishes, prickly pears, buttercups, ostrich eggs, or herbs with funny names like coriander, turmeric, and tarragon. Parrots and owls, blackbirds and doves fly around her house. Once, there was even a toucan! Colorful smoke comes out of the chimney, and the smell is delicious. Mia has no doubt that her neighbor is a witch—a good one.
