Gloria Danili was born in Italy in a house filled with history and philosophy books. She worked in the creative fields of backstage production and set design, and after completing a master’s degree in creative writing, she went on to write programmes for children’s television. A number of wonderful ‘children’s’ books that she read as an adult marked her shift towards storytelling and sparked her passion for children’s literature. Today she lives in London with Emanuele and her twins in a house full of maps, trunks and teapots, and when she writes she enjoys imagining the characters from those stories perched beside her, busy making her a cup of tea and whispering ideas for her new stories.
