Just Right is excited to announce a pivotal milestone in its journey: for the first time, the agency will be attending the MIA | International Audiovisual Market, Italy’s dynamic hub for business, discussion, and collaboration among leading international audiovisual executives. The event is scheduled to take place in Rome from October 6th to 10th.
As a literary agency focused on managing subsidiary rights, this expansion into the audiovisual sector represents a natural evolution for Just Right. Over the course of five days, we will participate in panels, explore emerging trends, meet audiovisual professionals, and showcase Just Right’s catalogue to an expanded network of decision-makers.
This year, MIA is also launching an exciting new initiative: the Book Adaptation Forum (BAF). This special programme aims to connect publishers, producers, literary agents, and audiovisual professionals, with a focus on exploring and enhancing the rapidly growing market for literary adaptations.
The BAF will feature a curated selection of unpublished novels for adaptation, including one from Just Right’s catalogue: Super Sdentata, written by Lisa Riccardi and illustrated by Margherita Riccardi, which follows the heartfelt coming-of-age journey of transforming fear into strength through a “magical whistle”.
The MIA represents a new chapter for Just Right, as the agency seeks to expand its role as literary agents bridging the gap between the written word and screen-based storytelling. It also signifies the opportunity to explore new partnerships and creative alliances, and allows the agency to showcase its expertise in subsidiary rights and cross-media collaborations, supported by a carefully curated selection of titles that are ready or nearly ready for adaptation.
