Alessandro Sanna is one of the most acclaimed illustrators and artists on the Italian and international scene. Since 2013 he has been teaching Illustration for Publishing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. He conducts drawing and painting workshops in schools and libraries, as well as at cultural events in Italy and abroad. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.
He has collaborated with dozens of writers and publishers, and his picture books have been translated and published worldwide. His work has earned him three Andersen Awards. In 2020, IBBY Italy appointed him Italian Children’s Laureate, recognising his commitment to promoting the value of books, reading and children’s culture internationally.
