Serena Viola is an Italian artist and illustrator based in Milan, renowned for her work in illustration, painting, and visual design. After completing her studies at the Liceo Artistico, she furthered her education at the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan and honed her painting skills under the mentorship of Maestro Luigi Lomanto.
Throughout her career, Serena has collaborated with both Italian and international publishers, as well as global brands. Her illustrations have been showcased at the “Picture Book Art” exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna. She has also been featured in personal exhibitions such as “Oh, i cuori” and “Mappa Mondi,” the latter inspired by the book “I fili invisibili della natura,” which won the prestigious Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 2018.
Her artistic excellence has been recognised with several awards, including an Honorable Mention in the 3×3 International Illustration Annual and a Gold Award in children’s publishing from the Italian Illustration Annual in 2018.
