Stefano Raggi was born in the province of Arezzo, Italy, and has been drawing since childhood, using illustration as his primary means of storytelling and expression. Largely self-taught, he developed his practice through observation and extensive work from life.

In 2018, he turned to illustration professionally, refining his skills through a course with Joanna Concejo and later completing the Ars in Fabula Master’s program in Macerata (2021).

His debut picture book, Il Divano (Ideestortepaper), was published in 2024, followed by La nonnetta (Extempora Edizioni, 2025). In 2026, he published Il Lampione with Ideestortepaper.

He works with traditional mixed media—inks, watercolours, coloured pencils, and graphite—focusing on expressive characters, perspective, and atmospheric detail.
