Just Right participates in the 21st Thessaloniki International Book Fair (TBF), taking place from May 8 to 11, 2025 at the TIF-HELEXPO International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Inaugurated in 2004 and organized by the Hellenic Foundation for Books and Culture, the Thessaloniki International Book Fair has become a significant cultural institution in Greece, promoting exchanges among Europe, the Balkans, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. The TBF also boasts a professional program that attracts publishers and literary agents from abroad, facilitating international partnerships and enhancing its appeal to European and global institutions.
This year’s fair will focus on the theme of Human Creativity and Artificial Intelligence, exploring the challenges posed by AI in its many forms and the relationship between humans and machines – its challenges, opportunities, dangers, and potential.
This upcoming edition is particularly important for us, as it will feature Italy as the Guest of Honour for the first time. The President of the Hellenic Foundation for Books and Culture, Nikos Bakounakis, emphasized Italy’s rich literary heritage and its role in strengthening cultural relations between Greece and Italy. Under the motto ‘Shared Horizons,’ Italy’s program will include guest authors, editors, translators, illustrators, and academics, as well as tributes and exhibitions dedicated to notable figures like Andrea Camilleri and Hugo Pratt. Additionally, Greek publishers will propose events that showcase a strong Italian influence.
Among the events aimed at children, there will be a main exhibition titled Small and Italian which will feature 70 authors and illustrators sharing verses and drawings inspired by Italy, highlighting its literature, symbols, heroes, tastes, and scents.
